Olga helped bring Gaudi’s brilliance alive to us throughout our tour of Sagrada Família and Pake Güell, and she feels like a true friend now! She knew all of the inside tips for ensuring our tour felt intimate despite being crowded, and she timed the tour perfectly for the most amazing light and views!

My only regret is not booking more of our tours with her while we are in Barcelona, as she has set a very high bar for the rest of our trip!

We contacted Olga on WhatsApp... read more and gave her our dates way in advance. That was a great move because we didn’t want to find out she was already booked. Our dates to visit Barcelona were fixed.

Because we were jet lagged we overslept our appointment and were awakened by a call from the front desk that our guide was waiting for us. We got downstairs as quickly as we could. Olga was patient and courteous and didn’t hold back anything from our tour despite our late start. That was just the beginning.

Prior to our arrival in Barcelona she offered suggested itineraries. We had been to Barcelona before and toured the major attractions but decided to let Olga set the itinerary even if it meant revisiting sites. That was a good decision. She had two days planned and wisely purchased admission tickets in advance so we never waited in line.

Visiting La Sagrada Familia with Olga was 100 times better than the tour we had with a cruise ship tour. We saw (through a window into the lower level) Gaudi’s tomb and there was actually a wedding going on at the time. How’s that for a venue? She knows where to stand at a particular time of day for the best light. She knows the history and the particulars. I could go on but you get the picture.

Olga was an art major so our visit to the Picasso Museum went farther than looking at pretty pictures. She knew the phases of Picasso’s life which gave more meaning to particular series of his work. The Picasso Museum in Barcelona has the greatest collection of the artists work so don’t miss it and all the better to visit with Olga.

We visited Hospital de Sant Pau, Casa Milà, Casa Batlló, the Jewish Quarter, Gothic Quarter and she found us a fantastic vegetarian restaurant for lunch. We did not need to hire a driver and took a taxi when we had distance between sites.

She communicates efficiently with WhatsApp. Looking back at our communications to write this review it’s funny how wrong we were and how right she was on all recommendations.

On top of all that, she is your personal photographer. Better than “selfies,” she knows the best spots for those “Kodak Moments.” Leave it to Olga and you won’t be disappointed.

She expertly guided us through the park. Explaining the big landmarks of the park, and also highlighting some of the nuances/secrets that might be overlooked by other guides. She took time to take pictures of us at so many beautiful spots (as a mom who is usually taking the pictures, and not often in them, I greatly appreciated this).

After a quick cab ride, we were off to Sagrada Familia. Despite the crowd, Olga quickly guided us around the outside of the property with her voice amplified by a clever (and unobtrusive) radio system to hear her over the noise of tourists and construction. Her explanation of the exterior was thorough but not laborious. As an art history major, I adored every minute as did my highly
Science minded father in law. Upon entering the church, Olga allowed us to soak in the stunning beauty of the church before quickly and expertly explaining every detail- again guiding us through the crowds. It was heaven. The pictures she captured of my family are spectacular and ones I will treasure.
